The Dénia City Council is recognised as an area with a large commercial tourist influx, so the commercial establishments located here are free to determine the days and hours in which they will remain open to the public during the following periods:

Between Palm Sunday and the Monday following Easter Monday.

From 1 July to 30 September.

Hypermarkets and supermarkets are mostly open on Sundays and holidays in the periods mentioned above.


Usual business hours during the rest of the year

From 10:00h to 14:00h and from 17:00h to 21:00h.

Shopping areas

City center

The shopping area comprises the streets: Marqués de Campo, Cop, Diana, Cándida Carbonell, Carlos Sentí, Temple de Sant Telm, La Mar, Magallanes, Colón and De la Vía.

This area houses the municipal market, the weekly fruit and vegetable market, as well as a wide range of boutiques and fashion shops, shoe shops, assorted items, cafes, restaurants and nightlife.

It is also the administrative and financial center of the city.

Loreto Street

Located next to the Town Hall square, a few meters from the access to the castle and the old neighborhood Les Roques, is an emerging area that offers a wide range of restaurants and small local shops.

Area of the Jaume I square or "Paris zone"

Its main shopping streets are Paseo del Saladar and Patricio Ferrándiz, Alicante Ave, Del Montgó Ave, Del Marquesado Ave and Quevedo St.

This area houses the weekly market on Mondays and  flea market on Friday , in the parking of the Torrecremada Gardens.

Madrigueres zone

Located on the main road in and out of the city, this area mainly houses large food surfaces, car dealers, furniture and home decoration shops, lighting and others.

Baix la Mar - Esplanade Cervantes -Port

The old sailor quarter "Baix la Mar" is a picturesque and charming area formed by narrow streets, small squares and low rise houses. This one next to the Esplanade Cervantes houses a wide gastronomic offer and small shops dedicated to the sale of crafts, gifts, fashion and beach items.

In the port and next to the fish market, there is a colorful flea market that works in the evenings nights of the middle and high season.

Marina El Portet and Marina de Dénia

The marinas located in the dikes north and south of Denia´s port, host shops and businesses related to the world of nautical and active tourism, as well as great variety of restaurants, terraces and leisure venues.
